Bringin’ in the New Year Right Times 2

It has been an eventful 24 hours.  I ran in the “Bringin’ in the New Year Run” in Tulsa.  This run was held at the River Parks at 11:45 at night.  The run featured a great New Year’s atmosphere combined with fireworks going off over the river.

I also have the opportunity to listen to my good friend play in his band in the tent at the run.  I thought the band sounded good.  They even played some old school country along with some classic rock.

Here’s a few videos of Sonrise Jack playing at the run….Sorry about the picture quality….I was trying a different camera…
Finally, here is a video of the beginning of the race……
But wait!!!! My New Year’s Running wasn’t over….  I went home around 1:00 a.m. and woke up around 5:00 a.m. and drove 121 miles to OKC to run in the New Year’s Resolution Run.  This run was cold, freezing cold.  The sun was out but the wind was strong and constant.  The first half of the race had a strong headwind.  We only got a few pictures because of weather and being kinda tired…..
Needless to say, I came home after the races and slept.  I ended up running slower times than usual…around 26 minutes but I was very happy with the second race because of the weather conditions and already being somewhat tired.  Here are the links to the results…

In conclusion, I had an awesome time doing what I enjoy doing…running.  Having the family with me during this adventure was great.  Seeing my good friend play in his band was an added bonus.  I was also thankful to have the Earnhardts with me on the first night.  It just seems right to have them at a race.  Really weird when they aren’t there.  My next race?  Not sure.   Frigid Five in Edmond on Valentine’s Day.  Of course………………
